BIOINFORMATICS WORKSHOP

Problem

A sequencing and genomics service provider needed to brush up on the bioinformatics know-how of their laboratory staff in order to be able to better serve their customers.

Solution

We interviewed the staff, and designed a short lecture series based on their key questions. In these lectures, we introduced and demonstrated the main bioinformatics analyses and tools used by their customers. The final session consisted of the staff members performing basic bioinformatics tasks by themselves, with the guidance of our technology specialists.

Outcome

New bioinformatics skills enabled laboratory staff to understand the requirements of their customers be able to better advise them in their experimental design.
