From Screens to Scenes: a Glimpse into Our Office Week
Our recent Office Week in Tampere, Finland, brought our mostly remote team together for a chance to collaborate in person, reflect on our shared goals, and strengthen the bonds that make our hybrid culture thrive. From data analysis and strategy sessions to a smoke sauna, here’s a glimpse into a week that reminded us why showing up—digitally and physically—matters.

Building Culture Beyond the Screen
At Genevia Technologies, we’ve embraced a hybrid working model that supports both fully remote roles within European time zones and the option to work on-site at our Tampere headquarters. This approach has allowed us to grow a diverse and exceptionally talented team spread across Europe.
While we thrive in a digital environment, we also recognize the value of face-to-face interaction. That’s why we were so excited to bring the team together in early July 2025 for our Office Week in Tampere—a chance to reconnect, collaborate, and simply enjoy each other’s company.
“The company's forward-thinking approach, offering full remote work and flexible hours, has opened doors for those of us living outside Finland to work with exciting and meaningful data while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Working remotely, you could sometimes miss having “live colleagues”; however, Genevia has found a great solution for that. They organize remote work weeks in locations across Europe, bringing us together for collaborative workshops and social activities.” — Fredrik Salmén, PhD, Scientific Project Manager
“At Genevia, I love two things above all: team spirit and work-life balance. Despite the mostly remote work setting, everyone is so supportive and friendly. Even when meeting teammates for the first time in person, they never feel like strangers.” — Grigorios Georgolopoulos, PhD, COO

Reunions, Deep Dives into Strategy, and Lots of Coffee
The week kicked off on a rainy Monday morning, but the mood inside our Tampere office was anything but gloomy. The space was filled with chatter, laughter, and the warmth of familiar and new faces meeting in person—some for the very first time. More colleagues arriving later in the week were welcomed with shared dinners and after-work gatherings, setting a relaxed and joyful tone for the days ahead.
Throughout the week, our typically quiet office became lively. We not only worked on client projects but also exchanged ideas, solved problems together, supported one another in ways only in-person interaction enables, and enjoyed coffee breaks on the balcony and lunches at local restaurants.
Wednesday brought a pause from day-to-day tasks as we focused on something bigger: the future of our company. True to our value of continuous improvement, we hosted a company-wide strategy session. In small groups, we tackled timely topics and brainstormed ideas for how we can keep evolving as an organization. The session sparked useful ideas and offered inspiring glimpses into our shared vision for the future.

Wrapping Up with a Finnish Touch
To close out the week, we embraced our Finnish roots with a wellness retreat. On Friday, we left the city for afternoon coffee and ice cream at a local strawberry farm. Later, we made our way to a summer cabin to enjoy a traditional smoke sauna, water activities, outdoor games, and a classic barbeque. Surrounded by nature—and great company—it was the perfect way to unwind and celebrate a successful week together.
After days of connection, collaboration, and reflection, we returned to our remote setups recharged and realigned, reminded once again of the power of meeting face-to-face. Until next time, thank you, Tampere!
