GENE COPY NUMBER ANALYSIS

Learn how a research group from the University of Oslo got their copy number data analyzed and interpreted in just a few weeks.

Problem

Professor Ola Røkke’s group studies gastroenterological surgery with a particular focus on ulcerative colitis. They had hypothesized that gene copy number defects might explain how patients recover after surgery, and had conducted array CGH measurements on patient samples.

Solution

We created genome-wide copy number profiles for each patient and compared the aberrations with statistical methods using larger patient groups to validate the hypothesis.

Outcome

Without a need for recruitment of a bioinformatician, the research group generated their copy number data in a format that they could further study and use towards a publication with traditional methods.

Without the help of Genevia team I would not have been able to get my data analyzed at all. I found the collaboration professional, friendly and quite informative for me. Now I can more easily proceed to do further studies.
